Massachusetts Mandatory Health Insurance Becomes Effective July 1st

Massachusetts Mandatory Health Insurance Becomes Effective July 1st: "In less than 10 days, Massachusetts will be the first state in the country to make having health insurance mandatory to all residents of the state. This new legislation has encountered much skepticism, and as the effective date nears, most residents appear to be against a mandatory health insurance regulation.

With an election year upon us, much attention is being paid to many issues which have been neglected over the past few years. One such issue is the growing number of uninsured Americans and the promise of many state and local officials to overcome those numbers. Massachusetts seemingly has addressed this issue by way of enacting legislation to provide universal health care coverage to its residents. In April 2006, Governor Mitt Romney signed into law legislation which requires all Massachusetts residents to obtain medical insurance. The newly enacted legislation requiring mandatory health insurance becomes effective July 1st."

Interesting for anyone who lives in Massachusetts The full story is here read on....
